This is partly why I chose De...Great post, Brandon! This is partly why I chose Decision Science- it doesn't pigeon-hole me into only one career direction. It combines statistics, economics, and psychology. You are right in that when people are asked what defines them, they always respond with their major. There will always be someone better than you at ECE! But, there aren't that many people better at ECE, guitar, and writing than you.
